Movies The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare This movie is way funnier than it should be. Alan Ritchson and Henry Cavill play so well off of each other for this comedic moments, there are times you'd think it was a comedy rather than an action movie. You wouldn't be wrong though, it is a comedy.
TV Halo I am going to get ahead and tell you that my review will be a hot take for super fans of the books/games. Him taking off his helmet is NOT THAT BIG A DEAL! Also, Pablo Schreiber does an amazing job of being Master Chief.
TV Fallout If you like the Fallout games, you will love this show. There is a lot of dumb humor that you would get in the game, outright gory weapon violence, and some surprising emotional beats.
TV Shogun The start of this show is slow. However, Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki are simply putting on a clinic to whomever aspires to be in Hollywood. I cannot express to you how amazing their performance was.
Movies Sisu This movie is crazy. I knew the John Wick folks were involved, but they did not leave anything on the table. The story is simple telling only what needs to be told and nothing else. Legitimately, in the entire movie there is probably 200 - 300 words spoken.
Movies Transformers: Rise of the Beast I thought this was going to be on the same level as the newer ones and while those are bad, this one somehow manages to dig itself lower. The voice acting is probably the best thing, where the writing basically written by a 6 year old telling you a story.
Movies Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom I am so mad at how dumb this movie is. Scene stolen from Star Wars, the Cantina line and the Jabba the Hut intro scene, the characters from Street Sharks, and lastly "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids". It was corny, bro-y, and just over the top stupid.
Movies The Marvels This movie was ok, but so full of plot holes that even to the most enamored, it doesn't make sense. The fight scenes are lazy and short, the story is half complete, and it just feels rushed and CGI heavy.
Movies John Wick Series This has to be the best series I have ever watched with consistency. Great music and great fight scenes that you know took a lot of time to put together. Without thinking about it, I am giving the series a 9. It is the best series I have ever watched and hope that Ballerina lives up to it
Movies Blade Runner 2049 The shots in this movie are awesome. From the desert storms, the big cities, the San Diego trash sites, and to the giant digital display of Joii is just so good. This is a masterclass of blending CGI with practical effects.
Movies Blade Runner My major complain for a similar movie, Alien was that the quiet pieces were just too quiet. This movie doesn't have that issue. The music feels and adds so much to this movie that I am 90% sure it fueled music for games like Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
Movies Windtalkers The actions scenes are either epic and awesome, or predictable, over the top, and boring. This was prime you never run out of ammo timeframe. They do reload, but Nicolas Cage seems to be carrying 6000 rounds of .45 for his Thompson. It is crazy.
Movies Dune Part One I wish I could explain to you how many times I have watched this and am just now, in November 2024, realizing I never wrote a review for this. I have tagged it in my system as watched, but never reviewed. Let me correct that egregious mistake.
TV The Continental This miniseries is full of amazing fight scenes that make no sense, weapon damage that is beyond the realm of normality, and slower than the snail that has finally catching up to you.
Video Game Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 It is Call of Duty game. If you watch the video above, I am just playing through some of the horror portion and the number of times that I nearly jumped out of my skin is crazy. The rest of the game is nothing different. Decent gun fighting and equipment.
TV Echo Alaqua Cox has done an outstanding job on this character and her stunt work was fantastic. The inclusion of the Choctaw people and their heritage was so well done to provide history and depth without being forceful, overbearing, or dragging it out.
Video Game Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint What kills both of these games is the size of the map. Wildlands already felt big being that it is 625 sq kilometers, but Breakpoint is outrageously large at 2500 sq kilometers. While there is a ton of different vehicles to use from planes, helicopters, motorcycles, and a verity of other
Movies The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes The first half of this movie is solid and sets up an awesome double feature, but then dies in complete and utter failure. Viola Davis is the absolute powerhouse of this movie and everyone else pales in comparison.Correction, Peter Dinklage also killed it.
Movies The Equalizer 2 Man, Denzel is outstanding. There is no part in the opening act that I don't feel that he is living the mission that God has set for him. Helping those in need without the notoriety that others would look for. A simple Lyft driver making his way in Boston.
Video Game Cyberpunk 2077 This game delivers everything you want from a gripping single-player experience—intense combat, stunning visuals, and characters you’ll either love or loathe. The world is gritty yet beautiful, with fluid, visceral combat and sound design that pulls you into its chaotic cityscape.
Movies Expend4bles Just like the previous 3 Expendables, it is entertaining, but not going to win an award even if all movies on earth just died. Its dumb for sure, but nice to watch when you are on a plane. This is an Expendables movie. There is a lot of action, raunchy jokes, and that is about it.
Video Game Star Wars Outlaws This game had so much potential that it could have been good. With beautiful scenery, sound design, and some great NPC companion-esq characters it could have easily been a 30 hours heist game. Ubisoft's and Massive's ambition was just outweighed by wanting to do quantity rather than quality.
Books The Terminal List This book is such a well written piece of fiction that I am really surprised it took so long to become a TV Show. What I think slowed it down and in turn brings the book down is how depressing and callus the bad guys and friends are.
Movies John Wick 3 Since I am rewatching these, I really think the High Table is more afraid of John than we think and the story that is mentioned in John Wick about being a man of focus is something they fear. We do see that fear in John Wick Chapter 4.
Movies John Wick 2 This movie is basically part 5 and 6 of the first movie. On it's own, it doesn't have the same level of punch to the story or the pacing that was in the first movie.
