The Book of Boba Fett

I think that this is basically just the Mandalorian season 2.5 there’s half the season is really dealing more with Mando and all the things that he’s doing with the dark saver and with Grogu versus actually being about Boba Fett, which as a Mandalorian fan is not a big deal but as a Boba Fett fan

The Book of Boba Fett

Synopsis

After being thrown into the Sarlacc pit in Star Wars Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, the Mandalorian armor saves him allowing him to escape. Life has different plans for him than what was once his role, and a band of Tuskin Raiders takes him in, teaching him a new way forward.

Review

I really like the show there’s something about it. That is just kind of charming but at the other side of it you basically have to be a Star Wars nerd to get into it. You really just need to really understand what happened and Star Wars Episode VI - Return of the Jedi you need to know what happened in The Mandalorian for you to understand the kind of weight and gravity of Boba Fett taking back Mos Espa to quite frank. I really expected it to be Mos Eisley just because of where my mental pictures always put him from the first Star Wars movie.

I think that this is basically just the Mandalorian season 2.5 there’s half the season is really dealing more with Mando and all the things that he’s doing with the dark saver and with Grogu versus actually being about Boba Fett, which as a Mandalorian fan is not a big deal but as a Boba Fett fan, I can understand the frustration with that, but I don’t think that it’s mattered anyway I think the show would’ve been three episodes whether you had the Mando stuff in there or not.

The acting is fine. There’s no one here that’s particularly bad or great that we haven’t seen previously. However, what honestly frustrates me the most and really does reduce the shows quality for me are the “Mods.” They are this group of mopeds riding teenagers that are trying to be gangsters or whatever, and it really just feels like a kick in the pants. It feels like a stab at the Star Wars universe in general. They are the worst characters I’ve seen, and that includes Jar Jar Binks. I just don’t understand why they even existed in this universe when we actually saw like a motorcycle gang in there that was part of where Boba Fett first started.

My Rating

This show has some series hills and valleys. As a Star Wars Skywalker Movie Series fan, I appreciate the expanded story and giving life to the presentation from Pat Oswald in Parks and Recreation. I loved Boba Fett as a character, in fact one of my going away plaques from a unit in the Marines features him. I just think the show didn't show the coolness of the character and turned him from Anti-Hero, to wanna be Dad. They should have just made it a 3 episode show. I like the action, its fun, but nothing we haven't seen in a 5-minute section of anything else. I initially gave this a 7, but the more I think about it, I am only giving it that because what it does for the Mandalorian. The the Moped fools make this a 6.

Parental Rating

This is too deep in the lore to get my Dad involved. From a rule's perspective, he is in though. The language is light, there is no sex, and the violence is like all Star Wars, no blood. So approved by Dad and rejected by Mom.
