Synopsis

Frank has finished his mission of getting revenge on those that were part of the death of his family. With no idea how to move forward, he wanders through life looking for a message. But there are still people left that he did not expect, and their revenge is on its own path.

Review

There are some good parts, and some bad parts. It is basically an hour-long post credit scene of Daredevil Born Again with extreme violence, yelling, and bad CGI. I'll drop the video of the "shot in camera" fall onto the AC unit, but with those complaints, it does tell a great story of grief and PTSD.

Jon Bernthal is outstanding in this role. There is a scene in his apartment and then the cemetery where he is struggling with his demons. There is also the struggle of finding a way forward in a world where he was part of something bigger, had a mission, but now doesn't. I know from personal experience and talking to my friends who spent time in country, struggling to feel a part of something when leaving the military.

The story is lame. I cannot express to you how simple it is in the telling and setup. I think the 60-minute time frame is a major reason for travesty. There isn't enough time to bring even a partially full story to this. There is a movie in the Underworld series that I have the same feelings on so hopefully I'll recall this when I watch that.

My Rating

This movie is mainly about the violence so it is hard for me to give it a score of entertaining. All of it is over the top, but there are some good tactical fight scenes in there that make it entertaining. There is a nice part of the story about the innocence of children and seeing the good in people at times when adults can't. The story of the grief is the best part, but it is quickly set aside for the violence. The best I can do is give this a 6.

Parental Rating

I am not kidding about the amount of violence. It is gratuitous. I don't have an issue with it, but it is like MaXXXine or X where the violence and gore is the main story part in an of itself, not part of story telling. That plus the language makes this one of the easier rejected movie decisions. Rejected by both.
