Whomever did the cover art, did not talk to the author. It specifically says that he wields the hammer one-handed with a shield. The cover art shows a dude with a GIANT hammer and a sword. I'm going to call it AI generated and that just pisses me off.

I do appreciate that it felt like they tried to share the spotlight a bit more between all the characters/actresses. It was really fun to see Hana Mae Lee really get some time because she is so wild that it just makes you laugh. There is a scene where they are in a tent together

Speaking of the second season. The last episode of the second season look me probably 4 hours to finish. It was terrible. The fights, boring. The story in the final episode, negates most of the entire season. They knew the show was ending and threw it in the trash.

The story also highly predictable. From the git go, the breadcrumbs are laid in front of you like bread loafs. From the gaslighting to the overall plot, it is one of the most predictable stories ever. Especially when you see the mad sprint the movie takes. 1.5 hours of running through the story.

How they did the age of the show, i.e., the old cars, decor, style in the house, etc. is so well done. I am honestly not sure how they do it so well 50 years later or so. It really helps you feel what how things happened. I do feel there are some modern language patterns that make no sense

Rebel Wilson makes this movie so much better than I think it would have been without her. I am not a huge fan of Adam Devine but the way he and Rebel play off each other and the shade thrown is outstanding. It is one of my favorite parts of this movie.
TV
The other two standouts are Tom Pelphrey and Emilia Jones. Tom took a bit to grow on me, but when he does, his actions become so clear. Emilia, who plays Maeve, I've never seen or heard of I don't think. But she came out swinging in this show and easily took one of the top spots

This is very much a "teen" movie. The jokes are juvenile at best, and the story is kind of lack luster. I mean this is a very popular movie and I just don't think it should have survived, the way it has.

Lots of language, some red food dye and scenes of torture, and nudity. The family element is a trope more than plot. So if we count up the issues on our hand, 1 + 1 + 1 + 1, we will see that this equals a rejected by both statement for this movie.

This movie is 21 years old. 21 years and still has some outstanding CGI that holds up. The underwater scene and the scene with Sparrow and Barbosa fighting in the cave are absolutely seamless. The phasing from human to skeleton isn't jankie and just really holds up.
2025
The Mission Impossible Tier list. I know, in fact I guarantee, that you will not find a better list of the Mission Impossible films. We have been talking about this for a long time and really looked forward to it. We also missed last month so we had some other things to talk about.

The beginning is slow. I have talked a lot about the realism of the John Wick series and if you know, then you can see how it worked out here. Something super simple made there entire setup more real.
