Review

A sub. They fight a sub. What has this series gotten to? It really is just wild what these people have come up with to keep this series going. However, the sub scene really is one of the most interesting and fun ones. As for action, the Cuba scene is so stupid. You can't drive backward FASTER than a car going forward.

This movie is also where you started getting into the contract issue by the actor. Specifically, Dwayne and Jason both had a clause in their contract that they couldn't lose a fight. So that forced that stupid scene in the really cool prison fight where they squared off like a weigh-in picture before a boxing match. The line before that, "I'll beat you like a Cherokee drum" was pretty good. Still a banger line, but someone will get upset about it.

The acting isn't anything new, and the story takes some serious hits with the forced friendship between former enemies. I don't care how much you play it up, at no time are you going to trust a dude you spent days fighting and KILLED one of your teammates. I'm sorry, "Family." I almost forgot about the Paul Walker replacement. He was brought in way too early and is not his own person. He is stupid.

My Rating

I finished this movie a month ago and thought I had written this review. I was wrong. So my memory of this one is a bit stretched. I know I enjoy it because it is so dumb it's fun. I also really like seeing my red-headed brother from Game of Thrones. I like him in this and the scene where he is using the hood of the car for a sniper shot is solid from a practical standpoint. However, the action scenes, while very fun, do nothing to support the issues of this movie. A 7 is the best I can do.

Parental Rating

Language, sexual implications, executions, and a lot more violence. There is nothing in this that will make my mom or dad want to watch this. Rejected by both.
