Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1

Synopsis

Edward and Bella's wedding has all the things a wedding is expected to have. Love, bad dreams, and family drama. However, that pales in comparison the events to might compromise Bella's life, the wolf pack, and the people in Forks.

Review

I really like this movie. There is something simple and pure about the first half. I think that is mainly because this was before they split up and so they were actually in their honeymoon period of the relationship so it felt real. It looked real. It also resembles real life where your vacation smacks you in the forehead with adulting when you get back home.

I also think this is where the acting stops being so weird. It doesn't have such awkward dialogue. The cast seems genuine in their actions, maybe because it is almost over? They just all do a good job, well minus the wolf pack ensemble when they meet in the woods. I don't know what the dude's name is, but he just has a bad mean face. It looks like a 5 year old who is trying to be the big man on campus. The dude with the sleeveless shirt on.

I will say, that if I were a vampire and had money for days, I'd buy an island too. That place was super cool. I am not sure how you get groceries with any regularity (I guess if you have money like Scrooge McDuck, then someone can drive it out to you), but that can be solved.

Before I finish this, I have to talk about the creepy CGI of the baby at the end. It is awful. A like 3-year-old's face on a newborn and it doesn't fit the head. I think anyone would drop on their knees in fear if they were seeing that.

My Rating

Like I said, I like this movie. It reminds me of an early relationship where you just always WANT and need to be around your partner. It also shows the idea of finding common ground during an argument. While it is heavy on the drama, it is entertaining for that reason so I am giving it a 7.

Parental Rating

Some implied nudity, covered sex scenes, some violence and no language. The sex scenes are all tame and show from the waist up type deal with minimal movement so it isn't something crazy. I think that the story is enough that my mom would still watch it based on the rules, but like I said previously, she has no desire to actually watch it. Dad is out. There is nothing really exciting or action oriented in this movie to match the rules. Approved by Mom and rejected by Dad.
