Dune Prophacy
The rest of the cast isn't bad, but I feel like their acting is a little over the top. Everything feels very dramatic when I don't think it should be. I am not mad at Olivia Williams or Emily Watson, but I just feel they are static in their actions. Their younger selves are better cast.

Synopsis
1000 of years before the events of Dune Part One, the Sisterhood is fresh in its manipulation of the Emperor and everyone else in an effort to place themselves on top, "Sisterhood above all."
Review
So we need to talk about Travis Fimmel. He does some weird things like Raised by Wolves and Vikings (Which isn't really weird until the final seasons with him) and this one is closer to Raised by Wolves. His plot twist is super good and not something I predicted (Mainly because the presentation of who he is in the same episode or the episode before in which we figure out who he is) though and really does present a nice suggestion as to the events in Dune.
The rest of the cast isn't bad, but I feel like their acting is a little over the top. Everything feels very dramatic when I don't think it should be. I am not mad at Olivia Williams or Emily Watson, but I just feel they are static in their actions. The cast that plays their younger selves I think are more emotional and better are showing who they are. Now that I write out the word emotion, I realize that "Fear is the mind killer" is probably something that leads to most other emotions as well.
The story sets up an already tumultuous relationship between the Harkonnen and the Atreides, but I feel it is just glossed over. I would have preferred the opening episode to be that event, so I could remember why they are fighting. With how destitute the Harkonnen are, I can't see how they got so far other than just the extrapolation of the Sisterhood manipulating, so their family is the big man on campus.
My Rating
This show is kind of slow. I got to the last episode, which obviously was the best, and it took me days to get back to it to finish the season. I like Dune enough to watch the next season, but I am not looking forward to it. Just like Raised by Wolves, the story is interesting, but slow, and I am not super excited to finish it. I am giving this a 7, but barely. I just have a hard time getting into it.
Parental Rating
Early episodes are full of blood, sex, nudity, and probably language. Later episodes have violence with no sex or nudity. Because of how graphic the sex is early on, I think that Mom would reject this as it doesn't have any family value to it. I think Dad would be bored, but based on the rules he would approve. The fighting is cool, the political drama is cool, it is just slow to get to those events.
