Synopsis

While being unable to keep a job, Scott Lang, steals a special suit while being manipulated by the suit's owner. This leads to him working with Hank Pym to stop the technology from getting into the wrong hands.

Review

This is one of the funnier Marvel movies you will watch, and I think the wittiest. Especially from Marvel Phase 2. Paul is so good in the role that I am always excited to see him in his roles at this point. Also, the little girl and him together have great onscreen chemistry and feel like a father-daughter in real life. Their conversations feel like inside jokes, especially with that ugly teddy bear.

The dude that Michael Douglas punches early in the movie, has a very punchable face. Every movie he is in I feel that way. Outside of him, I think most of the other people do well.

I really like the CGI and slapstick comedy in this. I think it is because of the blend of practical and CGI combined from the tiny and full size perspective. The scene of them fighting on the Brio Thomas the Tank Engine train set, which honestly the fact that I pulled that name from memory is amazing, is one of my favorite scenes in the entire series. The train flipping when hitting the Yellow Jacket, and Scott running through the carpet.

My Rating

I find this movie to be funnier than the others in Marvel Phase 2 in a slapstick format. It just really hits me even after watching multiple times. It is the right amount of funny and serious. I like it. It is an 8.

Parental Rating

This might be one of the few that my Mom would like. It is about a Dad working to see his kid. The action isn't very graphic and the language is calm. There is no sex and honestly, only one kiss. I am going to say approved by both for them.
