The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
This movie is way funnier than it should be. Alan Ritchson and Henry Cavill play so well off of each other for this comedic moments, there are times you'd think it was a comedy rather than an action movie. You wouldn't be wrong though, it is a comedy.
Synopsis

This movie's pacing is really well done where it never lingers too long on any scene where you just have this feeling of "ok, you can move on now." This paired with alternating comedy and action makes for a very entertaining movie. Ritchson is great as this butcher comedian that I am curious where he pulled it from. I know he was in Blue Mountain State or whatever, but I just only see him as Reacher so it is hard for me to see anything else since that was my first introduction to him.
However, while He and the others do have fun with their jobs, it is that blasΓ© fair about killing people I think does push a little to far for most people. Especially those associated with the Military, in particular the Marines or Infantry. It is gruesome at times and a bit killing and gore for killing and gore sake.
My Rating
I haven't laughed at a movie like this in a long time when I watched it the first time. The gun fights are more for entertainment than accuracy and that is to be expected I think. It is a Guy Ritchie movie, so expect The Gentlemen, not the John Wick Series. However, the story is good, the acting is good. I am happy with this movie, and I am going to give it an 8. For this review it was my second time watching it, and I was still happy with it enough to not match critics at the close to 7, but it did go down from the initial 9 I thought it was from memory.
Parental Rating
Language is not only British, but very American. I.e., lots of F bombs that are meant to offend, not part of common conversation. No sex, but as this is a war movie, there is a lot of violence laced with blood and gore. There are quite a few scenes where people are covered in the blood of Nazis. Mom is going to reject it, but Dad will approve. Barely.
