This is an extremely short book, but does trickle in some of the more recent concerns with a threat from within, rather than an external threat. The action is well paced and very well described with the right elements to keep you involved.

This is much like Tripwire where there is a large level is just basic writing. I know we have a formula for this series, but this one I was so angry at because it was so obvious to the reader that Reacher wasn't playing with a full deck of cards. We can blame it on the Texas heat.

This is the last of the Kovacs book and I am happy that it is over. While this book was entertaining and told a great story, but really just felt like a long whiney book talking about how the girl he loved years ago who went somewhere else was killed based and he wants her back.

However, I have since learned that really it is a trilogy with 2 additional books that add more but aren't considered part of the main series. Second, there is a couple year gap between the first book and this which puts them out of being teenagers and somehow that feels better.

The early part of this series always upset me with the implausibility of some actions that happen. However, the action in this story is where it starts to make the series a more enjoyable read. Thor does a great job of telling a compelling story with a possible event that could have happened.

Secret societies have always captured the imagination of the masses. There are things in our world that we can't explain. This book provides a believable story line that is for sure false, is full of enough truth, that you don't care. Some of the characters are annoying, but overall it is good.

However, having watched it, even comparing to my memory of the book, it doesn't hold up well. If I ever got a chance to talk to Orson Scott Card and whoever owns the film rights, I would want to redo it with a miniseries that combines both Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow books.

This movie is crazy. I knew the John Wick folks were involved, but they did not leave anything on the table. The story is simple telling only what needs to be told and nothing else. Legitimately, in the entire movie there is probably 200 - 300 words spoken.

This book was a crazy ride of knowing there was more to the story, but learning about it feels natural for the characters as well as the readers. With a crescendo of action, this book does a great job of pulling you in and encouraging you to continue
