Review

This is a show based on the book by the same name, Spycraft. This show is going to be hit or miss. My wife watch this when it was first released and enjoyed it, but watching it this time, there were for sure some things that have not aged well even in this short time.

First off, we have to talk about the narrator. His speech pattern, pronunciation of certain words, and cadence are extremely distracting. The episodes also are too short to give anything of value to them especially with the weight of information available from the book. Instead of doing just short 30 minute or so episodes, they could have done 3 part episodes on each section allowing for them to talk through the stories like the book.

My Rating

I didn't like this show. The narrator was awful, the interviews were so wave top that you never felt like you got anything good. It didn't even talk about the book it came from. On of the authors is one of the interviewed people. I just wanted so much more from this speaking that I loved the book. This is a 5.

Parental Rating

There isn't anything of value with this show with obviously no language, no sex (even though they do talk about "Sextortion" which isn't a word and is a terribly made up one speaking that "Honey Pot" already exist), and no blood. While my dad does love anything spy, this is too light and the information basic to actually be something he would enjoy. Based on the rules, my mom is out, and my dad is in.
