Synopsis

A group of friends come together to play a years long game of tag as one of the members may be quitting the game.

Review

This is a wild story. Something that I don't think would work these days with the cost of things now compared to even 10+ years ago. I also can't imagine have a friend group so strong that people fly each year to go play tag. Mainly because I have never lived anywhere long enough to have friends like that.

From a movie perspective, this is a somewhat funny movie. It elicits a lot of chuckles, but no outright laughs. The gimmicks and jokes fall more in line with the actors I think, as seen from different things they've been in like Landman and Self Reliance, but I don't know the people.

I think this does make for a great story and the movie shows how that story does weave into real life. People always want to hold on to what they know and love. They want to make things last. One person's perspective of a group could be completely different from the others feel because they aren't honest conversations being had. That is more a reflection of men, but it is what it is.

My Rating

I think I enjoy this movie more because of the "What if" of it than the actual movie itself. The scenes where they are trying to tag Jeremy Renner are entertainingly spun up and over the top, making me wish they really didn't happen that way. From the home-videos of the real guys, there are some truths to it, I just hope it worked out that way in a 90% way rather than, "He dressed up like an old lady one time" way. There isn't a lot to this movie other than the friendship and that is what makes it interesting. I am going to give this a 6.

Parental Rating

There are a lot of drugs, drug references, sexual content, and language. This is a movie that my parents would never watch, even from a content mindset. Rejected by both.
