Synopsis

A prolific journalist with a bleeding heart for the truth is invited on a private yacht with a bunch of the world elite and gets thrown into a mystery about a missing person.

Review

I think I have to start this by saying that the most enjoyable part of this movie for me was the fjords of Norway that the mega yacht cruises through. Yep, that is it.

The acting is probably the best part of this movie. And even then it isn't stellar. I think it starts with the writing of some of the characters. For instance, there is a rock-star that is there to sprinkle some hints. But he is so ineffectual, and the writing for him is so bad that you just don't care.

The story also highly predictable. From the git go, the breadcrumbs are laid in front of you like bread loafs. From the gaslighting to the overall plot, it is one of the most predictable stories ever. Especially when you see the mad sprint the movie takes. 1.5 hours of running through the story.

My Rating

I have to, and I am going to assume the book is better. Otherwise, it would not have been green lit for a movie with an amazing cast. Most of the major players are great. Kira is amazing and the bright spot in this movie. The rest feel like drones. I was entertained as it is a fun watch, but it isn't great. I did enjoy watching it with my wife, but I'll never watch it again. It is a 6.

Parental Rating

Some language, but I think that is about it. There is some violence, but nothing overtly graphic. There is no outright sex, and there might be some nudity, but I don't think so. While it is outside the norm for both of them I am going to say approved by both.
