The Recruit
This show was recommended by a couple friends of mine because "it is funny and good." The best word I have is that it is "Entertaining." Overall, the story is good and interesting, but the amount of things that would not happen or happens because X is stupid is over the top.

Synopsis
Owen is a new lawyer at the CIA and is given the task of reviewing "Greymail" which is where someone send mail to the CIA saying if they don't do X then they will spill classified information.
Review
This show was recommended by a couple friends of mine because "it is funny and good." The best word I have is that it is "Entertaining." Overall, the story is good and interesting, but the amount of things that would not happen or happens because X is stupid is over the top. Owen makes bad decision after bad decision and also decisions that don't make sense for anyone that has never been in those situations. For instance, at one point during the show he sees something bad happening and gives NO callout over the radio. When attempting to give a "something is wrong here" warning, the lead tells him to shut it, and he decides to run in to the event. Stupid, but he is a lawyer not an operator. This type of event goes on and on and on⦠every episode is a constant "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!"
Enough about the story. The acting is pretty good. I believe that these people are who they say they are, even if they fit the new stereotypes. The action is also fun and doesn't pull from the story for the most part. There are some tactical issues, but overall it is there.
EDIT at the end of Season 2 (The show has since be cancelled): The best word for this show is still "Entertaining." It is a fun show and I will say that Owen is better in the second season than the first. He still makes dumb decisions, but you see a TON of character growth from him which is good. I am happy with where the season/show too. Especially since they didn't know the show was ending. I think this season is 7, maybe an 8.
My Rating
It's a 6. Not great, entertaining enough to keep me interested, but needs some love. Too many inaccurate moments that most people would question.
The second season is better than the first, but it doesn't raise the score for this show. It was just easier to digest and believe after a season of yelling at the screen in my head. With the show being cancelled, I am thinking that is the most accurate way most people felt.
Parental Rating
The language is a bit on the high, but honestly it isn't used that often, but is more than my Dad would like. He would watch it, but would complain about the amount of language. Sex was minimal and implied more than shown and nudity was either non-existent or just a bunch of butts. Mom would watch it, but not her first choice. Approved by both.

EDIT: As I have spent 2 years doing these reviews, I do need to change this rating. Completely. Especially the scale below. There is too much language for my dad. I think the show is fun enough that my mom would enjoy it. So I am going to say rejected by dad, mainly for language, and approved by mom.
