The Pitt

Holy crap. I did not expect this show to be this good. I also didn't realize that the entire season is just one shift. That was an awesome way to present the season and allow them to roll from one episode to the next. Super smart thought process there.

Holy crap. I did not expect this show to be this good. I also didn't realize that the entire season is just one shift. That was an awesome way to present the season and allow them to roll from one episode to the next. Super smart thought process there.

I haven't seen Noah Wyle since he was on ER back in the day and I think he might be one of the best performers out there at this time on television. He had the gambit of emotions and really played his role well. Actually, for the most part, the cast was excellent. There are characters that rub you the wrong way, ones that seem to be just skating by, and then there are others that are surprising you at each step. I am very happy with the cast.

I am not in the medical industry, but I do have some knowledge and my wife has even more as she works on her own medical doctorate. Between that and an interview with Noah where he said he wouldn't do another show like ER unless it was authentic, this show felt real. A little on the over the top as far as the events that happen in a single day, but I do not think it is out of the realm of possibility.

My Rating

I was very surprised by this show. VERY surprised. In the course of the 4th of July weekend, we watched all 15 episodes. Outstanding show that grips you and pulls you in. The accuracy and the insistence to real events helps elevate this from the plethora of crappy medical shows like Grey's and Chicago Med. This is a 9.

Parental Rating

Alright… I know this one immediately is going to be rejected. There is a LOT of language, multiple episodes with nudity, and obviously violence/gore. However, the language is not used willy-nilly, the nudity is medically accurate, and the gore makes a lot of sense for an ER. I don't think they would make it through the season, but I know that my brother who suggested I should watch this, is attempting to get them to. I think they would like it as they really liked ER back in the day. So while based on the rules it is rejected by both, I think they would still watch it.
