The Paper
Esmeralda is so obnoxious, irresponsible, and manipulative, and in an age where the rest of the characters are relatively woke, no one recognizes being gaslit to the uptenth degree. I cannot stand her to the point that I fast forward EVERY seen she was in.

Synopsis
A former salesman, turned editor-in-chief, uses volunteers to revive a local newspaper all while being firmed for a documentary.
Review
As show standing on its own, I am not sure what they are doing. The characters are ALL over the top rather than there being a couple crazies. All but two people are just written to be the most outrageous version of a stereotype you would see in the office. The worst part is Esmeralda, Sabrina Impacciatore. Esmeralda is so obnoxious, irresponsible, and manipulative, and in an age where the rest of the characters are relatively woke, no one recognizes being gaslit to the uptenth degree. I cannot stand her to the point that I fast forward EVERY seen she was in.
As for the story, for the most part it is fine. There isn't anything good or bad about it. Some of the scenes make you chuckle, most make you just get frustrated with the lack of movement. The plot points are so predictable, that the show ultimately becomes boring.
I will say that I do like Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Nunuez, Chelsea Frei, and Ramona Young. I find Gleeson to be a bit of sanity most of the time to a world that is full of unlikable people. He isn't perfect, but he does a good job. Oscar is my favorite part either from being the character to pull references to [[The Office]] or just to again be a bit of sanity. Chelsea and Ramona are the most normal people in the office and that is a the best thing about their characters. Them as cast do a really good job. I like that.
My Rating
A "spin-off" of The Office with all the bad things, and a couple of the good things. The characters are unbelieavable, the writing is absolute crap most of the time, and the jokes are not funny. I remember John Krasinski telling a story about the [[The Office]] and how before they started filming the cast had to work together doing random office task. This buy that chemistry to make the show work. I do not think they did this here and it shows. I will watch one more season to see what changes they make, but that will be it. It is a 6.
Parental Rating
I can't see a single thing they would be upset about, but at the same time, I can't see a single thing that would make them want to watch this. There is no nudity/sex, only a couple of conversations. There I no violence and the language is mild. While I think based on the rules my dad would watch it, he probably never would. However, the rules are what we are here for so approved by Dad and rejected by Mom.
