It doesn't start well. I cannot imagine the amount of handcuffs they had on the creation of this show, and you can see it as they work through how to handle it. The actual event themselves is terrible in my opinion, but how they iterate through it really is one of my favorite parts of the show.

Synopsis

Jeremy, James, and Richard continue their charades, car reviews, and celebrity interviews. Starting by moving the show around the world to moving them around the world and putting themselves in extreme situations that provide tons of comedy and interesting story telling.

Review

Much like Top Gear, this show is all over the place. It doesn't start well. I cannot imagine the amount of handcuffs they had on the creation of this show, and you can see it as they work through how to handle it. The actual event themselves is terrible in my opinion, but how they iterate through it really is one of my favorite parts of the show. So I am assuming that they were not allowed to interview celebrities and have them drive around a track for a large scoreboard. So the first season, they "invite" these celebrities on to the show, but they all die. Funny the first time, terrible after that. The second or third season, they do a 1v1 between two drivers that have a crazy relation to each other such as "Both of them played in a band in high school." Then after the third season, it was just specials.

The specials on this show are outstanding. Everything I have loved in Top Gear and so much more. I really appreciate the places they go to, the stories they tell, the pranks, and mostly the somewhat questionable information they give you. Like the Mongolia special. Tons of information there, is it all true? No idea. Does it sound plausible? Sure.

I just thought about this, you also get to see a change in how the show does it speed test. A new track, new driver, and in general, just a new sense of what they are trying to put out there.

My Rating

My love for this show grew from the love for Top Gear. They are funny, it is a great set of writing, and honestly, I learn a little about the cars I loved on my walls from Middle School. There are still things I catch rewatching this show, but it is fantastically made. I laugh at this show all the time. It is just funny. They are so quick to jokingly insult that at times, they are caught off guard, and they all just break down laughing. This is an easy 9.

Parental Rating

Language is limited and British. There is some crude humor from time to time, with a lot of puns, however no outright debauchery. There is some almost sex, between animals, on the show, and still most of the violence is from a horse. So just like Top Gear, rejected by mom and approved by Dad.
