The Family Plan
Actually, I am not sure who they made this movie for now that I write that last sentence. It is rated PG-13 which I think is too high for the audience that would be interested in, and I doubt they were aiming to make this for moms and dads trying to connect with their kids going to college.

Synopsis
A former assassin who has made a new life as a family man is found, he takes his family on a spontaneous trip in attempt to hide from them.
Review
This is basically "The Pacifier" with a dad rather than some random showing up at the door. There is also no secret dance, thank God.
I think the most believable performance comes from Mark Wahlberg. He actual puts a solid effort into trying to show people that he was a good dad. I am also not just talking about the idea of acting. I know it is kind of the job of the acting team to make you believe that they believe, but the rest of the cast falls short.
The gun fights are absolutely terrible. The bad guys never hit at a ratio worse than Stormtroopers and Mark never misses. Even an impossible throw with a knife his the target in the only place that would cause immediate shutdown according to the movies. I mean when a teenager is flying a drone to give instructions as to where bad guys are because "Its like a video game," you can't really expect much.
Despite all of this, I found this movie to be highly entertaining. He was funny at times, at least enough for me to chuckle. There were also moments that I think every kid wishes they had with their parents. That conversation or time where you learn that your parents are more than your parents and have a history as a kid. In this movie it comes up in two ways that make sense based on the character background. For me it was learning my dad used to yo-yo as a kid and could still remember some of the tricks (this was back in the late 90s/early 2000s when yo-yos tried to make a comeback).
My Rating
This movie isn't going to win awards and it wasn't designed to. It is a feel good movie. I was about to write a good summer movie, but this for sure takes place during the school year and somehow they drove 33 hours without the kids missing school. I am not sure that logic, but hey maybe its a holiday weekend and I missed that. I digress. I could care less about the action, but the rest of the movie I enjoyed. I am going to give it a 7.
Parental Rating
This is a movie that both my parents would enjoy. My mom especially. A good family movie. There is some language, I mean it is a Marky Mark movie, and some violence that can lean toward graphic. There are also some sexually implied scenes and conversations, but nothing shown. Actually, I am not sure who they made this movie for now that I write that last sentence. It is rated PG-13 which I think is too high for the audience that would be interested in, and I doubt they were aiming to make this for moms and dads trying to connect with their kids going to college. Either way, this movie is approved by both.
