The Day After Tomorrow

Synopsis

An overly dramatic, forced, global warming film that touches on the science of what could happen by people who do a great part in their roles. The world is in shambles as a group of super storms ravage the northern hemisphere.

Review

This movie is weirdly entertaining. It is so over the top that you kinda forget that you are being forced into this political movie. Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal do a great job at playing their parts.

Overall, this movie came out 20 years ago and most of the CGI, wolves excluded, look great. That ship floating through downtown Manhattan is CRAZY. Still super cool to watch.

What I feel this movie misses is really something beyond superficial level items. The story is VERY one dimensional and I don't think that is a bad thing for the movie itself. However, that means that this whole movie isn't really much to write home about.

My Rating

I really find this movie entertaining and find myself watching it every once in a while especially when I am just looking to have something on. Its worth watching at times, and the rest can be forgotten. It is a 6.

Parental Rating

My dad HATES with a passion overtly political movies. He in some part is like me and wants to be entertained by movies and overly forced political messages just annoy him. However, outside of that the language is limited, there isn't really any violence, and no sex. My dad approves and so does my mom as this movie is all about the sacrifice of a parent for their child.
