The Bourne Legacy

Synopsis

After the events in The Bourne Ultimatum, the creator are cleaning house to get rid of the now unwanted Treadstone agents, however, Aaron has other plans.

Review

I really like Hawkeye, I mean Jeremy Renner in this movie. He does a great job. His character makes sense, there is good growth for him and in general you can’t be mad at what he does.

When I first watched this years ago, I think I feel the same way I do now. I am not sure it fits the story that we got from The Bourne Movies and The Bourne Books. I do like how it extends the story, and shows the continued iteration of the program. I don’t think the tag line “There was never just one” makes sense speaking that we saw other Treadstone agents in the first movie.

Jeremy and Rachel, are pretty good. I am not sure that Rachel’s character makes a ton of sense. She also shouldn’t have been so naive about the ramifications of what she was doing honestly. I think for someone so smart and not completely socially inept, she just constantly misses the mark throughout the movie. She is better in The Mummy, and just isn’t my favorite part.

My Rating

This movie is better than I think what most people give it. It’s got a lot of action, but it just misses on the story front. Plus some of the character interactions make no sense. I want to give it an 8, but I think it is a 7.

Parental Rating

While there is a decent amount of violence, there isn’t a lot of blood. The language is on the constant side, but not hard as it is a PG-13 movie. There is no sex, so Mom is happy about that. I think in the end, this will be approved by Dad, and rejected by Mom.
