Synopsis

A story told from the viewpoint of a wife from a biker group, tells about how the group starts, the crime, and the trouble they get into.

Review

This story was surprising. I saw a trailer for it a while ago, and it sounded interesting, but I wasn't sure what it was going to be. It tells a captivating story, but without it being based on a true story it just feels lack luster. Almost like there is just something missing from the story. It is told in an interview type format so that is part of it, but I think that if it had been about Hell's Angels or something like that it would have been better received.

The characters are really well written. Tom Hardy and Norman Reedus are great. Norman playing the crazy guy and Hardy playing the Stoic, this movie just brings some great characters to life. There isn't anyone that I felt was a bad character.

For a movie about motorcycle culture, there isn't a large expectation for you to know or understand motorcycles, so I think for most people that is really appreciated.

My Rating

I wasn't sure what I was expecting from this movie, but it wasn't this. This was a consistent pace with lots of drama. There are peaks of action that kept you involved. Overall, I think that it was a good movie to watch and was more enjoyable than I expected. While I watched it on an airplane, you should watch it at home. Easy 8.

Note*: I am thinking back on this movie and I don't think it is an 8. I don't think very fondly of this movie outside of the initial review. I think the ending hurts it so I would give it a 7 a month after.

Parental Rating

There is a lot of language. An excessive amount especially for my parents. There is a scene of attempted rape, but nothing is shown and someone intercedes. Overall, I am not sure either of my parents would watch this even if one of their grandkids said it was their favorite movie. Rejected by both.
