The 355
I love Jessica Chastain. She is an outstanding actress. This movie isn't any different from her other ones with one notable exception that plagues the entire movie and the rest of the cast. Everyone is dumb and there is no character growth that isn't a joke.

This movie came out two years ago and I usually avoid any major spoilers, but there are some things we MUST talk about. First, I know that cyber devices that can hack anything instantly is kind of the new Maltese Falcon for this century, but damn this one is so over the top bad that any child can tell they didn't contact an expert to at least help with the lexicon. The device is the size of a phone, but has enough power to hack ANYTHING instantly without exploding due to the amount of power consumption. Then we can talk about the CONSTANT phrase of "Something so beautiful, but so deadly" or along those lines and mentions of "algorithms" being the powerhouse behind this device. I should also mention this predates the AI constant we have in the market. Algorithms are a means to process information or make decisions, nothing more than the "+" in "2+2." This also doesn't mention that this movie could have been solved in the first 4 minutes with destroying the devices rather than trying to get it to a "friendly" intelligence agency.
Ok, rant aside. The movie itself is entertaining if you can suspend your disbelief. The acting team does well, minus the poorly written movie tropes. They have good on screen chemistry. The overall story is entertaining enough that you want to know what happens, however there are more than enough billboards to tell you what is going to happen.
The gun fighting is abysmal. The gif below and video below will show you why. Look at the muzzle flash and then the lift of the weapon. Those two things are almost instant. It is for sure not this delayed. There are situations like this all over the movie or where the bad guys have no sense of weapons and are just firing blindly toward sound.
Easier to notice with sound
My Rating
If it weren't for the acting, I'd have to agree with Rotten Tomatoes score of 28%, but the acting is superb. Not enough for the 8 that was given to it via audiences, but I feel that is more political than factual. This is a 6 at best. Entertaining, but no substance.
Parental Rating
Language in multiple languages, fighting (wildly comical) is there. This is not substance to the story overall,, for that reason my mom is out. My dad would watch this on an airplane for sure. Approved by Dad, Rejected by Mom.
