The gameplay is solid. I mean you are tearing into, mostly, bugs and the executions and gun finishes are really fun. The bigger issue for the campaign gameplay is that most of the guns feel the same, at least for the automatic ones. There isn't a lot of variety in the way they look either.

However, having watched it, even comparing to my memory of the book, it doesn't hold up well. If I ever got a chance to talk to Orson Scott Card and whoever owns the film rights, I would want to redo it with a miniseries that combines both Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow books.

This show killed itself with the incestuous relationship that occurs earlier in the series. Their decision to have this as part of the story line forces them to continue to recover in future seasons as those characters were forcibly removed from the show.

Andy Weir is masterful in his first novel that writes in small segments of immense imagery. I don't know of another book that is told in a log type format. While this is true, for a new reader, that it can be difficult to read and get into. I know, I first read it while stationed overseas.

Scott Kelly provides a monotoned story whose content is what keeps you going. An incredible story of someone who really didn't know what to do until they were already in college. Kelly's story pacing is outstanding and the stories in the past help provide some clear understanding
