This is a millennial classic. I mean October 3rd is Mean Girls day. Some how I have watched this multiple times in the last couple years and because I have watched it so often I could have sworn I've written a review. But I didn't.

So the story is ok. There is a good mystery the holds on for about half the movie, and then the second half is more of action. However, the action is punctuated by this weird explosive body thing that just keeps happening, and I am not sure how I feel about it.

I have to be careful with this review. It is a favorite of millions. I also see the DNA in it that allowed for one of my favorite shows, The Big Bang Theory to thrive. Maybe it is a product of the times and my life, but there is nothing good about this show that makes sense.

This is a wild story. Something that I don't think would work these days with the cost of things now compared to even 10+ years ago. I also can't imagine have a friend group so strong that people fly each year to go play tag. Mainly because I have never lived anywhere long enough

I think the sitcom trope is one of my favorite things about this show. I grew up watching Nick at Night with my Mom and Dad as I was growing up. At the time it would show "I Love Lucy" which is really where this starts. It plays through so much that really feel that she is part of those shows.

One of the things that really struck my wife as harrowing and concerning is this arc in the middle. There is a section of the movie where Grogu has to be on his own. This was easily one of the most grounding parts of the movie. It was incredibly well done, and I can understand weight of it.

The story is very cute. I found it to be very funny in a way that I didn't expect. I really appreciate the frustration of the old crew with the new generation, the new generations frustration with the others. There is also such a great weaving of people playing roles in the background

I am amazed at her ability back then and I see the foundation of all the work I see now. Anne does a fantastic job as well. She plays a character who keeps being pushed and pushed and you feel like she can see that in her real life. However, my favorite person is Stanley Tucci.

There was something about him signing "I'm just Ken" and the ending that really made me feel that he felt bad. The acting of course was way over the top, which is the point. However, in the over the top there is a serious tone in the world that are used. That is due to the writing.

There are some real long term story issues that start here. The Skrull's showing up present a big issue, that doesn't get solved in Secret Invasion which it was setting up. The idea of angry people about how Tony passed on his tech is for sure something that is real in that work.

I have to give huge props, pun intended, to the puppeteer and voice of Rocky. That element being real rather than straight CGI the entire time allows for me to feel like I am there which is EXACTLY what I believe movies are for. To pull you into that reality and story, away from real life.

I love this story. It is incredibly funny and sweet. Steve's character trying to defend his daughter from Phil's character and the snarky remarks is just outstanding. The bonding that happens as well between father and daughter just makes anyone want to call their parents.
