The girl, Bodhi Rae Breathnach, in this is far better than I expected her to be since I have no idea who she is, and she is relatively young. I feel for her and for sure think she will become an incredible actress. Honestly, most of the main people do a great job. I mean, Bill Nighy is there

Synopsis

A former assassin in hiding on a remote island saves a girl from drowning after a large storm. This starts a series of events that bring his past to light and the government on the hunt.

Review

This is basically the British version of Jason Bourne combined with some classic Jason Statham action. He is fierce in his work and the action is fast-paced and entertaining. The gun fights feel good and don't push too far into the 80s style of unlimited bullets like in War Machine.

The girl in this is far better than I expected her to be since I have no idea who she is, and she is relatively young. I feel for her and for sure think she will become an incredible actress. Honestly, most of the main people do a great job. I mean, Bill Nighy is there which is surprising because I only know him from Underworld and he is so good there. I think he does a great job for sure, and I have already started watching Underworld.

The story is a bit basic. You get a special forces' assassin working to save someone from their history since they accidentally get involved. That is basically ever former assassin book and movie. There is nothing special about it. What upsets me the most, from a more realistic perspective, is the idea of someone having unlimited access to a classified system from outside the MI6. Like, absolutely not.

My Rating

As simple as this story is, the story telling is well done. It is entertaining and fun. I am not mad at it. I don't think there is much to it like most of the random Jason Statham films that had Chinese production companies. Those weren't bad either, I mean look at Crank and it's signature ringtone which invaded my high school and first cell phone. This is still rooted in some realism which makes it easier for me to justify, even though it is basically a repeat of the first Bourne film. I am giving this an 8.

Parental Rating

No sex, some blood, and a decent amount language both American and British. However, there are some sweet elements between Jason and Bodhi. However, I don't think that is enough for my Mom to care. Even with the language, I think it is limited enough that he would enjoy it. Approved by Dad and rejected by Mom.
