They have gotten much better at story telling and cinematography than when I last watched them in middle/high school. The visuals were stunning, almost breathtaking while watching and I wasn’t even there. I can only imagine what it would have been like to be there.

Pole to Pole

Review

This is a bit of a "cruchy" show. Not in the direct sense of the typical "I'm vegan," but more in the sense of the esoteric and centering oneself. While this is truly a National Geographic show, showing the beauty of the national world, mixed with the science and destruction being had on different cultures, Will also makes this a bit of a redemption tour.

Let’s start with the National Geographic stuff. They have gotten much better at story telling and cinematography than when I last watched them in middle/high school. The visuals were stunning, almost breathtaking while watching and I wasn’t even there. I can only imagine what it would have been like to be there. The science being studied at each location was also something interesting and different. That to me was the coolest part of the show. Just listening to the different science taking place and how technology was helping things we all thought were a cold hard fact.

Lastly, we have to talk about Will. If you look at Will’s kids, you’ll know they are on the weirder side and had to get it from someone. It might be Will. There is a lot of metaphysical and weird science discussed in this show, like nature bathing, that are out there. But there is also a self-realization that’s shown where Will sees more of the mindset he has and the harm it can cause. That is the best part of him. Seeing him stepping back to let others do their work.

My Rating

This show is pure entertainment from a learning perspective. You get to see some cool things, learn some interesting science, and see Will learn about himself. There is a lot of what appears to be forced action at times, but I wasn’t there so I don’t know if it was manufactured or not. I still enjoyed it. I’ll give this an 8.

Parental Rating

My dad wouldn’t really care for this from a content perspective. No action. On the flip side, there is also no language and no sex. My mom would be interested in learning and would be happy to watch this with the grandkids. So I am going to say approved by both.
