I understand and could agree with IMDB giving this a 6.7. It isn't great. There is a lot of weird blood splatter, impossible shots/fighting, and other things that just make you shake your head. It isn't great.

Synopsis

A "Nobody" is trying to spend time with his family when a local bully gets into a fight with his son. Well the bully is connected and the fight escalates, causing Nobody to burn down a local smuggling ring.

Review

With all of that said, it is ungodly entertaining. Its funny, the fighting is fun, unexpected, and innovative. Also, who doesn't want to shoot a Tommy Gun or a Civil War Gatling Gun?

I will say there are some things that really irked me. Specifically, I would say the brother and his wanna be samurai thing (I think they are called "Weebs", I don't know) and the main bad lady. She is like 65 and is just making the most outrageous moves. They also did her real dirty with her dancing and action moves. There is one point where she throws a throwing knife from her shoulder, it just looks weird. Also, the CGI of what happens to her is a massive continuity error for me.

My Rating

Honestly, the best thing going for this movie is Christopher Lloyd. He is so funny and just there. This isn't as good as Nobody, but it is entertaining and that is about it. I enjoyed my time, my wife enjoyed hers so it is getting an 8.

Parental Rating

Nope. There is lots of profanity and one emphasized "Jesus F Christ" which would send my dad through the roof. There is also a lot of blood and flying bodies for no real reason. While it is about a family coming together, that isn't enough for my mom to watch this. Rejected by both, quite easily.

Deja Vu

The acting is all over the place. Neither good nor bad throughout. Just there. I am struggling to find a series of thoughts that makes this worth the watch. I just feel that it just spins up what could be so good, but does the bare minimum to pull a story together.

The Martian

As that is one of my favorite books, this movie was such a risk and I had such a high standard. This hit it and blew past it. The changes to the movie are honestly so minimal that you don't miss anything of value. There is one joke from the book that was taken out that was my favorite

Spotlight

I think one of the best parts of this movie for me is one of the ending scenes where there is a conversation with a couple of the characters. They are talking about how this even happened and the conversation presents the idea that they are all in part responsible.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Not a lot of language, which is funny speaking that this is the movie where cap acts like my dad and says "Language" which is the best joke in the movie. No sex. Violence is against robots which some exceptions at the end.
