Jurassic World Rebith

Synopsis

After Jurassic World Dominion a team is paid to go back to the island to gather some DNA that a greedy pharmaceutical company wants to use for a medical breakthrough, but they don’t know the monsters that are there.

Review

This movie both really good and terrible. From a highly predictable plot points and pacing, to great chemistry from Scarlett Johansson. She is probably the best part of this movie and the rest of the cast for the most part just along for the ride.

There is some decent action and compared to most of the Jurassic Park Series there is a lot more common sense. For example, there is a scene where two people are hiding under a truck and then the dinosaur moved away. One of them jumped into the truck and drove away. Makes sense right? However, that is where the stupid jokes come in that are way too consistent. The car announces “a pedestrian is in front of you” whenever there is a Dino there no matter how big it is. I mean, at no time would a T-Rex register as a pedestrian to any halfway smart vehicle.

In this world, we can synthesize dinosaur DNA, genetically modify it, but can’t recognize that a two-story tall dinosaur isn’t a human? This is just the start of the smart plot issues that turn into the mountain. One of the main ones is the family that is sailing in the no-go zone and didn’t seem to notice it. They are obviously experienced sailors, but they are just going to go where there are whale sized monsters in the water.

My Rating

I was entertained. It had some cute moments, but overall it falls on deaf ears an blind mice. The story overall is nothing special and the new dinosaurs, unlike what the movie states, are not what people are looking for. The OG dinosaurs are good enough and the crappy story with the ugly genetically modified monsters just means this just isn’t worth most people’s time. This is a 5 and while I was entertained and I want to give it more, but I just don’t think it sits anywhere else.

Parental Rating

There is some language, surprisingly less blood than previous ones. There is obviously no sex. While I know both my parents enjoyed the original Jurassic Park, this one is a stretch. Based on the rules, approved by Dad and rejected by Mom.
