Iron Man 2

Synopsis

Everyone knows who Iron Man is and with that, there is relative piece. However, others are looking to make their own suit as it is the new arms race and an old enemy attempts to ruin Tony and his Father's legacy.

Review

I know people don't like this movie and I can see that it is a weak link compared to the others in this phase, but I still find it enjoyable.

The change from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle I actually like. I think that it made for a much better change. I think Terrence Howard honestly didn't embody the role of an Air Force Officer very well. He just rubbed me the wrong way. RDJ on the other hand does a great job of being a man that knows he is about to die and doesn't want people to know so he is slowly giving things away. I know from experience that these actions are pretty are par with what I know to happen.

The action in this is still so cool. Whiplash walking onto the track and whipping these cars in half and just the destruction. I also love the final battle with the drones. It is really well done.

My Rating

I enjoy this movie. It is my least favorite of the 3 Iron Man movies, but it is right in line with Iron Man as far as pacing and storytelling. There are a lot of subtle events that happen and I really dig it. The final fight scene also has a familiar scene with the cars blowing up under the bridge like in The Dark Knight. I am giving this a 7. I initially gave it an 8, but it just isn't there after reflection.

Parental Rating

Limited language, no graphic violence, and no sex. I think the Black Widow scene might be annoying to my mom as she is in a leather outfit and was almost topless in the back of the car, but that is the most my mom would be upset about. It is hard for me to say that she would appreciate this more than the first one since you need the first one to understand this one, but I think based on the rules I have to. My dad, just like Iron Man, likes comics. He also doesn't like Terrence Howard and so with that I am going to say approved by both. Barely.
