Goliath

Synopsis

A disgraced lawyer, is pulled into a case against his former law firm and some of his old friends. However, the case is much larger than he expected and puts his life and those he loves at risk.

Review

This show was all over the place for me. Layer upon layer of conspiracy theory and puppet masters that most of it was smoke and mirrors even though they spent 4 episodes making it seem real. This is why I stopped watching after the first season. With all the craziness that happened to include one of the antagonist showing up dead in a car after being a primary source of stress for the character, where does another season go? What other events could happen that didn't already happen.

The acting was also either way above par or scraping the barrel. Specifically, there is this lawyer that I just couldn't stand. I will say that my wife liked a character that I felt was a waste of time so take that into the mindset of if you like people or not. Overall, I thought they did a good job, just a lot of it felt like it was over the top. Borderline soap opera.

For what action there was, the CGI made it feel like early seasons of The Expanse on Sci-Fy. I don't know where this show was hosted, but it being the first thing you see in the series, it really does take the knees out of it.

My Rating

Watching this and Landman at the same time was a terrible idea. Basically the same show, but Oil vs. Lawyers. Goliath's over the top story just leaps from one poorly executed storyline to another. I mean the whole romance between the ambitious lawyer and the old dude is creepy and creates more issues than story. I am giving this a 6.

Parental Rating

So this is a no go for both my parents. Lots of language, some nudity no one wants to see, and violence for no reason. Rejected by both.
