Freakier Friday
No language, no sex, no violence... other than a food fight. There is nothing about this movie to not like and I think the 6.4 that IMDB gave it is outrageously wrong. We obviously didn't see the same movie and I think my mom would agree.
Synopsis
Years after [[Freaky Friday]], Anna has her own rebellious daughter and now is getting married herself. So when the step-daughter and the daughter get into fights, ladies all switch places making them work together to switch back.
Review
I know that based on the normal rules of Hollywood, this is a remake. The story is the same, the elements are the same, the plot points are the same, even the actors as the same, but it is that legacy that makes this an outstanding movie.
For the adults watching that initially saw [[Freaky Friday]], there is just the right amount of call back, reference, characters and actors, that you feel that this is the sequel that it actually is. Then you throw in the kids and you are blown away how the movie is able to make new jokes that are in the same place as the old ones.
Speaking of the kids, teenagers, whatever, they are really good. I am very impressed with their acting, maturity when playing the older characters, and really just presence on the screen. Now, I should also call out the Jamie Lee Curtis is putting on a masterclass, and Lindsay Lohan should be applauded for her outstanding return. This was just an amazing movie.
My Rating
This movie has everything you want. Comedy, tears, and a simple story about making good choices. What they got better than the original is the simple camera trick for the switching rather than using CGI or something heavy for it. Kept the cost low and told the same story. I also am giving it bonus points for putting bloopers in the credits like the old movies did like [[Rush Hour]]. This is a 9.

We obviously didn't see the same movie and I think my mom would agree. This is a great movie in her mind. All about family seeing things from another perspective. Mom is in. While this isn't Dad's movie, I know he'd laugh and watch this with his granddaughters if they asked. Which they should. Approved by both.
