Synopsis

Hobbs is after a criminal who has been stealing highly sophisticated military parts using advanced driving techniques. To fight back, he reaches out to Dom and Brian dangling the carrot the Letty might not be dead.

Review

This is probably the first of the movies where Fast and Furious was crazy, but still somewhat believable, minus the entire tank scene. But as the movies goes on you start to get more unbelievable as the movies go on.

All the unbelievable items do need to be help like I tell my clients before walking through a table-top exercise. You have to suspend the disbelief that it could happen and enjoy the event. The movie is fun to watch. The driving is there to entertain, but there isn't a single race. So the cars do take a pretty big back seat in this movie. I am having a hard time deciding what is more unbelievable, Letty being able to fight well enough against Gina Carano from The Mandalorian, who in the movie has military training, or the tank scene in its entirety. Actually now that I think about it, Michelle Rodriguez manages to beat both Gina and Ronda Rousey in fist fights in this series, which is honestly crazy.

I don't think we can talk about the acting too much. There isn't anything really good or bad. It is very middle of the ground. I will say one of my favorite scenes is when Luda and The Rock go the get the cars. The British dude just straight up throwing shade at them saying "You don't have an entourage or any hunnies" and then ends up giving his clothes to the Rock. Just very simple comedy that I appreciate.

My Rating

It isn't great at all. This entire movie and really as the rest of the series as it goes on, is a case study of crazy mediocrity. The stunts get bigger and continually less credible. The acting stays the same. The cars continue to be a weird side piece that they try to make important, but never have the same legacy that the old movies did. Count it as a crazy action movie, and you are walking in with the right mindset. This is a 7.

Parental Rating

There are continually no content in these movies that my parents are going to watch. My dad might watch it on TV, but I'm not sure. The language is nothing out hand, but there is a decent about of suggestive language. There is the typical lightly dress woman and a no-show topless scene. The violence is there pretty consistently as well, but there is no visual with it other than out of focus or from a far away distance. I am going to say rejected by both.
