Baby Driver

Synopsis

A musically inclined young man is a driver for a crime boss. However, the time comes where he must find a way out, while others are out to get him.

Review

Hands down the best soundtrack and musical direction you'll ever watch in a movie. Songs that have the words posted throughout the environment. Actions that go to the beat of the song. It is awesome. I can't think of another soundtrack that goes as well and has such bangers throughout.

Ansel Elgort is incredible in this. He moves so well with the music and his sign language is very fluid which is something I always appreciate. Jon Hamm also is so good in this. He goes from being this chill defender of Baby to the only smart person to go after Baby.

The story is both good and out-of-left-field stupid. The crime and wanting to get out of it? Great. Finding a girl that you like? Great. The having one quasi-date and then telling then dreaming about the girl and telling her you love her? Hell naw.

My Rating

The driving is incredible. There is a ton of intelligence in the way he drives and there is a maturity in the way that he interacts with the other characters. I appreciate the limited Kevin Spacey in this movie, and think that everyone plays their roles very well. Between the music and the action, this is just a fun movie. My wife even said it was a fun movie with a great soundtrack. I'm giving it an 8.

Parental Rating

Some violence, Jamie Foxx with some incredible audacious comments, and a good amount of language. I think my dad would appreciate the movie, but the language would get to him pretty quickly just with Jon Bernthal's scene. No family elements really so rejected by both.
