Avengers: Age of Ultron

Synopsis

Tony, post The Avengers and Iron Man 3 is haunted by the realization that there is more outthere that doesn't want humans. In an attempt to put a "suit of armor around the world" and "peace in our time" he blends his suits with an AI that didn't learn the lessons he wanted and put the world at risk.

Review

Hmm, what is there to say about this movie. I don't like it. The opening scene while cool the first time I saw it, looks really cheesy the more you watch it. Them all jumping, flying, and screaming their way over a log. The action also feels really repetitive. The basically pulled every cool thing from The Avengers and other solid films in the series. Hitting the hammer on the shield, the annoying attempted one liners, and the weird hand waving just over the top.

I won't bash Olsen and her accent, she got bashed for it enough. Rhodey trying to get a bigger part just rubs the wrong way the whole way though. The main team is fine, nothing bad, just what you expect form them after 10 movies or so.

I think the story is fine, but the thing that really erks me is the bad guy. All this power and he didn't hide himself away before the big fight. He didn't make a second suit out of vibranium. Also, how does Cap's shield hold up for everything, but not an entire exoskeleton?

My Rating

This is the weakest performance in the series so far. Weird writing for the main team, and some banger lines from the bad guy. Action is a repeat of everything we have seen already and other than an infinity stone introduced, we really don't get much more out of it. I initially gave this a 7, but really it is a 6. It is just weak.

Parental Rating

Not a lot of language, which is funny speaking that this is the movie where cap acts like my dad and says "Language" which is the best joke in the movie. No sex. Violence is against robots which some exceptions at the end. For the most part it isn't offensive. So I think based on the rules, Dad is in, but mom is out.
