The Marksman
Synopsis
Liam Neeson plays Marine Corps Vet and lives along the US/Mexico border. As he is driving along his property, boy and his mom cross over while being chased by the Cartel. Mom gets killed and tells Liam to protect her son. Liam does this.
If Liam Neeson was attempting to be Rambo in Rambo: Last Blood from 2019. Story is almost identical. Something happens with drug traffickers south of the boarder that bleeds over into his property and he has to kill a whole bunch of Mafiosos.
Review
Honestly, Liam could be the same character he plays in any other Action/Drama movie from The Commuter, The Grey, to Taken. It is basically the same guy. I like Liam’s work, but as I watch more, I notice that he uses a lot of the same mannerisms for each character. Star Wars might have been one of the most different things he ever did.
The movie is PG-13 and so it isn’t too far into the gruesomeness or language you would expect from this movie. So it is a TV version of Rambo: Last Blood. My mom wouldn’t care for it as I don’t think it would interest her and my dad would watch it for the same reason I did, “Could be a cool movie and I like Liam Neeson.” Overall though, the story isn’t new, the acting isn’t great, I felt there were some things that just didn’t make sense, BUT I will appreciate the writers showing just how far Cartel influence can go.
My Rating
The movie was ok. I could watch it while working without feeling distracted, so in that effect you could be on your phone and watch it without missing much. Its a 6 for action alone.
Parental Rating
Dad approved. Mom rejected. Nothing of value in this movie and it is 2 years since I have watched it so simple works.
