Deja Vu

Synopsis

After a bombing, an ATF agent joins an investigation team to find out who the bomber was and what he did. However, the investigation brings some new technology and a creepy obsession.

Review

I was expecting more from this. I was expecting Denzel level story telling. This isn't what you get. You get a half-baked sci-fi fling of a movie that has no real substance. The only thing I think this tells you is that nothing changes and except the details? I am not sure honestly.

The action was over the top without being fun like [[Bad Boys]], in fact I just looked it up and saw that this was in 2006, and I would have put money on it being from the 90s. The whole thing just feels wrong. Like there is a portion of the movie where Denzel is chasing the guy in the past and causes like 10 car accidents, and it doesn't matter to them.

The acting is all over the place. Neither good nor bad throughout. Just there. I am struggling to find a series of thoughts that makes this worth the watch. I just feel that it just spins up what could be so good, but does the bare minimum to pull a story together. It is more about a relationship that would never work and is insultingly creepy.

My Rating

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew this had a time traveling idea. I just thought it was going to be more of a Groundhog Day type deal rather than a break physics and introduce stupidity type deal. It just wasn't for me. I am giving this a 6. I started at a 7, started writing this review and found I really didn't have anything to talk about. Then I was going to give it a 5, but I was entertained. I didn't get terribly bored so a 6 is where it lands.

Parental Rating

There is nudity, and it is creepy, stalker levels of nudity. There is a decent amount of language as well and a scene of torture. Easily, my mom is out. While I think my dad would watch this, I think the language and the story would stop him from enjoying it. So I am going to say rejected by both.
