Synopsis

Right now, if a rouge nuclear missile was toward the United States, what would happen? This is the that scenario and a multi-person view point showing all the different sides of how this decision could be made.

Review

This movie is a race to making you anxious and stressed. The story telling is so well done, and I can tell you that these decisions and the competing opinions are very much in line with what would happen.

I have to say that acting is incredible. I don't think there is a person who doesn't miss, minus Anthony Ramos, who also missed in Ironheart. There is one scene relatively late that caught me so off guard that I had to back the movie up and catch it again. If you have read the reviews before, you know that I typically can see what is going to happen. This scene was not in my plan. It was way out of pocket.

What I think this movie does well is uses a practical set in places where there is no need for CGI or really any true effects. From camera angles to sound stages, it looks and feels pretty real. Even the security entry points to the government buildings in DC were accurate.

I forgot that this movie was written by Noah Oppenheimer. The decedent of the Oppenheimer. I understand what he is trying to do and say, I just do not think that it is done well enough for people to understand.

My Rating

If this movie had a proper ending, it could have been a 10. However, there is no climax, no end to the story, just fade to black. I know that is the point and blah blah blah. You'll understand the blahs when you watch it, but it does hit. You get zero satisfaction to this movie, and it ends up being a complete waste of time. This zooms from a 10 to a 6, held up by the acting.

Parental Rating

The language is there, in fact is the only reason it should be rated R. There is no sex, no violence, just drama and language. However, there isn't a time when the language isn't used gratuitously. It serves a purpose. It is adding emphasis. I think that because of this, both my parents would be able to watch this and while not happy, still appreciate the movie. I am going to say, approved by both.
